Gov 2.0 Hero Day: Feature your heroes on GovFresh

I heart Gov 2.0 HeroesNOTE: Please send before June 13, 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Gov 2.0 Hero Day is fast approaching, and we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to show the love here on GovFresh. On June 15, we’ll post your heroes to help you show your appreciation for the great work they’re doing. Here’s how to submit your Gov 2.0 Heroes to GovFresh.

Send an email to hero@govfresh.com with:

  • Your name, organization, title, Twitter link
  • Photo of your hero(es)
  • Link to their Twitter page(s)
  • Brief description of why they’re your hero(es)

Other ideas to help you celebrate Gov 2.0 Hero Day and how you can honor your own on June 15:

  • Write a blog post (“My Gov 2.0 Heroes”) or vlog featuring your heroes, why they inspire you, what others should know about their work and how you can help them.
  • Tweet your Gov 2.0 Hero on Twitter with the hashtag #gov20heroday
  • Get creative. Buy them a beer, wine, flowers, dinner, take them to the spa, clean their house.

Look forward to your submissions!

Ok, so you want people to go through all this trouble (look at all the steps required) just to get a “chance” that their hero will be featured? And the people who do take all these steps… they get: zip + the satisfaction of having some person recognized on this website, when they could just as easily blog it themselves, or twitter it, or facebook it.

govfresh.com needs some fresh ideas for “contests”, and some actual rewards for people who participate, imho.

  2. Dear Citizen Pain (in the ***), ;-)

I posted this because some people mentioned they don’t have a blog and still want to show their appreciation. Note: We mention Twitter options. For efficiency’s sake, there has to be some standardization. If you have a better idea, by all means, please share.

Don’t complain about how we can do more. Instead, step up and show us what you’re doing.

    Thanks.

    Luke
